Google Bard is Google’s answer to ChatGPT, but it’s also different. The chatbot at this stage is an experiment that lets you do everything from planning a birthday party and drafting an email to answering questions on complex topics. It even lets you code and soon will feature an AI image generator thanks to Adobe. It is designed to do away with the conventional text-based context window and instead converse using natural, spoken words, delivered in a lifelike manner. According to OpenAI, Advanced Voice, «offers more natural, real-time conversations, allows you to interrupt anytime, and senses and responds to your emotions.»
The goal of this feature is to provide you with more accurate search results, though Google says checked grammar may not be 100% accurate despite the AI upgrade. One other thing you may have noticed is that Google Bard falls a bit short in providing sources for the information it pulls. While it does cite Tom’s Guide and Phone Arena (albeit incorrectly), there are no links provided for those sources.
In a large company, teams often want to build a chatbot, but different chat channels are important to different departments. As a company you want to be present on all of those channels, whether that’s the website, on social media, via telephone or on Whatsapp. Build an integrated bot so there’s no duplication of work and maintenance is much easier. After the transfer, the shopper isn’t burdened by needing to get the human up to speed. In its July wave of updates, Google added multimodal search, allowing users the ability to input pictures as well as text to the chatbot. Android users will have the option to download the Gemini app from the Google Play Store or opt-in through Google Assistant. Once they do, they will be able to access Gemini’s assistance from the app or via anywhere that Google Assistant would typically be activated, including pressing the power button, corner swiping, or even saying «Hey Google.» Soon, users will also be able to access Gemini on mobile via the newly unveiled Gemini Android app or the Google app for iOS. The chatbots, once developed, are trained using data to handle queries from the users. Many of the frustrations that you experience with traditional customer services, such as limited opening hours for contact by phone, waiting times and incomprehensible menus, can be removed with chatbots. People do find it important to know whether they are interacting with a human being or a chatbot, but, interestingly, a chatbot is more likely to be forgiven for making a mistake than a human. Google sees it as a complementary experience to Google Search — which just got its own huge AI upgrade. Still, you’ll see a «Google It» button next to responses when you use Bard that takes you to Search. Google Bard lets you click a «View other drafts» option to see other possible responses to your prompt. A chatbot may prompt you to ask a question or describe a problem, to which it will either clarify what you said or provide a response. This Google feature has been around for a few years, but it just got an upgrade where you can upload images to check if they’re fakes. Google Bard can now respond using images to add context to text responses, and after testing Bard’s new image capabilities we came away relatively impressed. How to Get Access to Google Bard
This gave rise to a new type of chatbot, contextually aware and armed with machine learning to continuously optimize its ability to correctly process and predict queries through exposure to more and more human language. Google renamed Google Bard to Gemini on February 8 as a nod to Google’s LLM that powers the AI chatbot. «To reflect the advanced tech at its core, Bard will now simply be called Gemini,» said Sundar Pichai, Google CEO, in the announcement. Despite the release of the source code, the stable version of Android 15 hasn’t yet been pushed to consumer devices. Typically, Google’s new Pixel phones debut with the latest Android version, but this year saw the Pixel 9 series launched ahead of schedule, still running on last year’s operating system.

Satisfying responses also tend to be specific, by relating clearly to the context of the conversation. It can be literal or figurative, flowery or plain, inventive or informational. That versatility makes language one of humanity’s greatest tools — and one of computer science’s most difficult puzzles.
Furthermore, there’s a free Gemini app for Android now, and Gemini can replace Google Assistant on your Android phone if you wish. There’s also a free version of Google Gemini that is accessible via any internet browser. For example, the query “Is it easier to learn the piano or the guitar? Notably, Pichai did not announce plans to integrate Bard into the search box that powers Google’s profits. Instead he showcased a novel, and cautious, use of the underlying AI technology to enhance conventional search. For questions for which there is no single agreed-on answer, Google will synthesize a response that reflects the differing opinions.
Since there is no guarantee that ChatGPT’s outputs are entirely original, the chatbot may regurgitate someone else’s work in your answer, which is considered plagiarism. As mentioned above, ChatGPT, like all language models, has limitations and can give nonsensical answers and incorrect information, so it’s important to double-check the answers it gives you.
